To craft The Glenallachie Wine Series, the whisky is expertly matured in American Oak Ex-Bourbon Barrels. Subsequently, the whisky underwent additional maturation for almost 2 years in Wine Barriques skilfully sourced by Master Distiller Billy Walker, imparting a distinctive twist onto the classic Glenallachie Spirit.

Each of the Wine Finishes has its own unique character and flavour profile influenced by the oak. Factors such as the oak species, level of toasting, and coopering of the cask each leave a unique mark on the slumbering spirit.

This golden blush malt obtains its subtle summer berry, honeyed character from meticulously selected Rioja Barriques of Spanish Oak, with a medium level of toasting. Rioja hails from Spain's most renowned wine region and delivers sophisticated fruit notes. These Barriques were selected and then bottled when the influences from the distillery and wood reached complete harmony.

Nose: Waves of red berries, honey, grape must, orange peel and almonds.

Taste: Rich heather honey, sultanas, almonds and red berries, with barley sugar, grapefruit, orange peel and a hint of aniseed.
