The Islands include a vast geographical area, the Arran in the south-west to Orkney in the north.  They embrace some of the wildest and most beautiful part of Scotland.  Each island has its own unique identity and character, just as every island distillery and the whisky it produces is also a one-off.  Islay is recognized as its own region due to its huge influence and number of distilleries
